Horses’ Haven Boosts Fundraising with CHARGE’s Sponsorship Program Support

Objective

Develop a sponsorship program to maximize revenue for Horses’ Haven’s new signature fundraising event.

Background

Horses’ Haven, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, retraining, and rehoming at-risk equines, relies on community support to fuel its mission. To enhance fundraising efforts in 2024, horses Haven launched the Horses’ Haven Trivia Showdown for Charity as their premier annual event. With only 10 weeks to plan the event, the event was organized on an accelerated timeline. Looking for support and guidance to help them develop a strategic sponsorship plan, the Horses’ Haven fundraising committee turned to CHARGE.

Solution

Horses’ Haven partnered with CHARGE, a sponsorship agency with expertise in helping nonprofits enhance their sponsorship efforts. CHARGE developed a sponsorship strategy that supported Horses’ Haven’s mission and created a sponsorship program showcasing the strength of the organization’s audience to engage potential sponsors.

Rather than focusing on short bursts of small event-based fundraising, CHARGE helped Horses’ Haven redesign its entire revenue development approach. The organization is now working to shift to an annual sponsorship program.

Results

With CHARGE support, Horses’ Haven secured 10 sponsors for the Trivia Showdown in fewer than two months. The revenue from those sponsors exceeded their initial fundraising goals. It also enhanced community engagement and expanded awareness around Horses’ Haven’s mission.

By developing Horses’ Haven’s annual sponsorship program, the small in-house development team will reach a broader network of sponsors, build strong community partnerships, and host premier fundraising events to support its mission.

“CHARGE helped us understand what potential sponsors are looking for and advised us as we put together a plan that was tailored to our unique situation and needs. We don’t have a lot of resources or manpower, but they helped us put together a plan that we could follow through on.”
